Smart City Lab Participates in Workshop on Using Data to Build Safer Cities by Safetipin

Rewa Marathe, Research Associate at the Smart City Lab, participated in a workshop on “Using Data to Build Safer Cities” by Safetipin. It included a panel discussion with Ashok Bhattacharjee – Former Director Planning, UTTIPEC, AGK Menon – INTACH Founder-Member, Nandita Bhatla – Senior Technical Specialist at ICRW and Kalpana Vishwanath – Co-Founder Safetipin. The discussion covered challenges of collecting data of the intangible ‘feeling of safety’, exclusion in planning and design and the gendered nature of the built space.
